PPTGames is a small team whose focus is to make games and tools in Microsoft PowerPoint. Tools that aren't necessarily related to PowerPoint itself. For example, we make drawing apps, document writing apps, calculators, and way much more. Sometimes we deliver these tools inside a PPTOS (Operating System made in PowerPoint), which simulates an operating system. So, albeit its common use to make presentations, PowerPoint has a lot more potential than most people think it has. This potential is heavily boosted by its built-in programming language, VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), which allows you to make virtually anything inside the scope of PowerPoint.
It's our goal to show the world what the true power of PowerPoint is. We don't expect people to use these tools in a daily basis or take them seriously, even though they technically can. We, and our growing community, think it's a fun challenge to make these incredible creations and then share them with others. Since PowerPoint isn't intended for making these kinds of projects, we also learn a lot throughout the journey as we have to make a lot of things from scratch, like for example physics.
There are many tools out there that would make the job much easier, but that takes away the challenge and fun. But that's not the only reason, PowerPoint makes some things incredibly easy and intuitive compared to other tools. For example, to add an image you just simply drag and drop an image from your computer to the slide. However, if you get in to more advanced things, PowerPoint starts to show its big disadvantages and limitations, but we are still committed to the challenge and won't give up. Another thing that keeps us doing this in PowerPoint is the community. Other people doing the same thing as you while also providing you with feedback plays a bigger role keeping us doing this than you might think. Showing our talent and dedication to the world and receiving feedback is rewarding; even negative feedback motiviates us to do better. We're speaking of our experience, but we believe the rest of the community agrees with us on these statements.
Our main goal is to show what PowerPoint is capable of doing as a creation tool for games, operating systems and more. We also want to provide as many useful tools to help PowerPoint creators make the best projects. The Crate Platform allows anyone to share their creations and engage in an ever growing community.
Apart from our PowerPoint projects, we also provide some related services.
However small, our team is a group of dedicated creators who want to show the huge potential of PowerPoint in making games, tools and much more. If you wish to join us, you can learn more and submit your application by clicking here.
We partnered up with multiple teams and indie developers from the community to engage together in projects. Below are some of our closest partners.
